Dinner almost broke me this week…

Hey sweet friend,

This week caught me off guard.

I didn’t meal plan (again), and I thought I could just wing it. Spoiler: I couldn’t. By midweek, the kitchen was empty, everyone was cranky, and I was this close to tears because I couldn’t think of a single thing to make for dinner.

And then I remembered…
I have an “emergency dinners” list for moments exactly like this.

Within 30 minutes, we were full, calm, and laughing again.
(No gourmet recipes required.)

Those simple, from-scratch meals that save the day? They’re in my From-Scratch, Not Stressed Starter Pack. If you don’t have it yet, friend—go grab it. It’s free and it’s full of the grace we all need when dinner feels heavy.

Also—real talk?
We ran out of milk and homemade bread early this week. Our family is growing, and I could feel myself getting sick. I didn’t have the energy to bake. So I grabbed bread and bagels at the store.

And I felt it—that little whisper of shame.

The messages around “from-scratch” can be so loud, right? Like if you buy store bread, you’re somehow failing your family.

But that’s not true.

Store-bought bread is still food. Still options. Still sandwiches packed with love for co-op.
I don’t live by “perfect” anymore—I live by good, better, best.

Homemade fresh milled bread might be best for my family...
But store bread when I’m tired and sick? Still good.

Let’s hold both.
Let’s choose grace when life gets heavy.

You're not behind. You’re doing the best you can with the time, energy, and love you have. And that’s enough.

You’ve got this, Momma.
With love,
Dana
